The Austrian capital has managed the turnaround from cars to public transport. Currently more people use public transport than cars, tendency increasing rapidly. Due to the present extension of the line U2 until "Messe Prater" and an expected elongation for 2013 until "Flugfeld Aspern", the public transportation net in Vienna is among the densest in the whole of Europe.
